Welcome to Mariners Gloucester. We are a vibrant Anglican church in the city centre, where Christians have worshipped for 165 years. We have a vision to play our part in the re-evangelisation and transformation of our city.
Our senior leader Andy says, “I started leading Mariners church in January 2012, ably supported by my wife Sue. We are also supported (and encouraged!) by a really committed and growing team of people who love Mariners and all it stands for as much as we do.
At Mariners, we are in a very exciting season of change and growth. Since January 2012, we have grown from 7 members (and struggling to survive) to about 200 (as at Mar 2015). But it’s not primarily about numbers. It’s about each individual, their story of journeying with God and how they have come to be at Mariners. No two stories are the same!
Sue and I have three daughters (all still at home!) and, as well as working in the church, we have (or have had) other jobs. So, we know a bit about the challenges and complexities of life in 21st Century Britain! However, we also know that God is as relevant and life transforming as ever, and we hope you will discover (or rediscover) that when you join us at Mariners. You will be very welcome.
Andy Osmond (Senior Leader)
