Vision & Values
To be a beacon of God’s light in Gloucester and beyond so that lives and communities are transformed by the love of Jesus.
Our Vision
Our current vision is to be a church that focuses on encountering more of God’s presence, is growing deeper together in faith and seeks to be sharing wider the light of Jesus.
This can be summed up in three words:
MORE, DEEPER, WIDER
Our Values
These are things we see coming out of the early church in Acts 2:42-47
“They committed themselves to the teaching of the apostles, the life together, the common meal, and the prayers. Everyone around was in awe—all those wonders and signs done through the apostles! And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common. They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person’s need was met. They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.”
And they’re values we look to be moving towards as a community. They aren’t things we have to have sorted before we can join in, instead they are values that we’re seeking to grow in as we live them out together.
Meet together regularly
And create opportunities to spend time with each with all of our differences, doing life side-by-side one another.
Adore worshipping the God of immeasurably more
Praising and passionately pursuing an encounter with God. Worshipping Him in fresh ways in the power of the Holy Spirit and being expectant that God will do things in and through us.
Rooted in Jesus and the Bible
Committed to becoming more like Jess and to sharing our faith with others. Taking the Bible seriously in all areas of life.
Immersed in prayer
And believe in its power, finding ourselves doing it constantly because we just can’t help it.
Newcomer friendly
Offering a warm welcome to all, with concern for those society has forgotten and opening our homes to each other.
Empowered and led by the Holy Spirit
With a desire to continue growing in the Spirit whatever age or stage of life, and encouraging each other on this journey.
Radical in our generosity
Holding our stuff lightly and not being afraid to give things away. Using our time, talents and treasures for the benefit of others and God’s world.
Share food together
Often. Including Communion.
